Bloc Party n'en finit plus d'exploser les codes et d'abattre les barrières entre rock, pop et musique électronique. Après l'incroyable "Flux", plus gros tube du groupe à ce jour en Angleterre, et son clip à la "Spectreman", les voici de retour avec "Mercury", hit encore une fois inclassable si ce n'est dans la catégorie "musique du troisième millénaire". Le clip a de nouveau été confié à Ace Norton, déjà réalisateur de celui de "Flux" ou encore du "Hustler" Simian Mobile Disco. Son univers à la fois rétro-futuriste et ambigü fait encore une fois merveille sur le son avant-gardiste de Bloc Party, à mille lieues de la banalité et du conservatisme de la majorité des groupes anglais actuels.
