Beyonce Feat. R.Kelly - If Were A Boy(2008) Qui aurait cru que la réplique attendue au tout récent tube de Beyoncé, « If I Were A Boy », viendrait d'un artiste respecté comme R Kelly ? Le chanteur R&B a cependant été le premier à répondre présent quand, implicitement, l'appel fut émis par la superstar. « If I Were A Boy », qui caracole en tête des charts actuellement, fait évidemment office de mine d'or et source de dérision pour des artistes à tendance (de temps en temps) machiste tels R. Kelly. À l'instar de Beyoncé qui ironisait « If I were a boy, I could understand » (soit 'si j'étais un garçon, je pourrais comprendre') à chaque début de refrain, le chanteur rétorque par un sarcastique « If I were a girl, I wouldn't play games » (soit 'si j'étais une fille, je ne jouerais pas des rôles'). Le chanteur n'hésite pas non plus à reformuler le « You're just a boy, you don't understand » (soit 'Tu n'es qu'un garçon, tu ne peux pas comprendre') de la belle en « You're not a boy, so you don't understand » (soit 'Tu n'es pas un garçon, alors tu ne peux pas comprendre'). Et remarquez la petite (et toute innocente) modification apportée au « Drink beer with the guys, And chase after girls » (soit 'Boire des bières avec les mecs et courir après les filles') pour donner « So I go to the club with the guys and sometimes flirt with the girls » (soit 'Je vais en boîte avec des mecs et je flirte parfois avec des filles').
