1950-Crusader Rabbit - ep. 06
Crusader Rabbit was the first animated series produced especially for television. Jay Ward went on to produce the better known and more popular The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, with much the same structure and characterization, and the roles held by Crusader, Rags and Dudley taken by Rocky the squirrel, Bullwinkle the moose, and quasi-Soviet spies Boris and Natasha.
1951- Gerald McBoing Boing
Gerald McBoing-Boing is a 1950 animated short film produced by UPA and given wide release by Columbia Pictures on January 25, 1951. The winner of the 1950 Academy Award for Best Animated Short, Gerald McBoing-Boing is the story of a little boy who speaks through sound effects instead of spoken words. It was adapted by Phil Eastman and Bill Scott from a story by Dr. Seuss, and directed by Robert Cannon. The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In 1994, it was voted #9 of The 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field.
1958-Yogi Bear - The Runaway Bear
Yogi Bear made his debut in 1958 as a supporting character in The Huckleberry Hound Show. He became popular, and in 1961 was given his own show.
1958-Huckleberry Hound - Hookey Daze
The Huckleberry Hound Show was probably the series that truly made Hanna-Barbera a household name, thanks to Huckleberry and the two supporting segments of the show: Yogi Bear and his sidekick Boo Boo, and Pixie and Dixie, two mice who in each short found a new way to outwit the cat Mr. Jinks.
