Corenell vs Lisa Marie Experience: Keep on Jumpin'
The cherry on this release comes in the form of a video which will certainly get the blood pumping slightly faster in the veins of some of the nation – a muddy all girl football match between the blonds and brunettes….and these girls get dirty (and we're not talking about the mud)!!! Germany’s Corenell and the UK’s The Lisa Marie Experience join forces on this remake of the old Patrick Adams standard that was first a disco hit in the '70s for Musique, then hit the Top Ten in April 1996 (yes, that long ago, pop pickers!!) for the Lisa Marie Experience and again for Todd Terry a few months later with Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown. Now 11 years on, it's time has come again. So, why the dual release? Well, Corenell kicked off the proceedings with their version of the record and unknown to them The Lisa Marie Experience were about to do exactly the same. Rather than go head to head in a bun fight – the two teams decided to join forces and enjoy the ride together.

Alibi & Rockefeller Sexual Healing
Massive remix of the classic marvin gaye tune!! Re-hashed and funked up some more by none other than the freemasons!! Comes complete with a funky, electro crossover mix from erick e. A production duo from Brighton, The Alibi are close friends of the Freemasons, and in keeping with the tradition of dance acts from Brighton, have named themselves after a well known Brighton bar. After recording their version of Marvin Gaye’s 1982 classic ‘Sexual Healing’, they discovered that by pure coincidence Rockefeller (Beatfreakz) had just made a version using exactly the same vocal. So it was decided they would team up and the resulting track from these two chart topping artists has already made it to No. 1 in the Music Week Cool Cuts Chart and was riding high in the DMC Update Buzz Chart. With support from Pete Tong, Scott Mills, Kiss FM, Galaxy, the Hed Kandi boys, Herd & Fitz through to the Hoxton Whores this track is building up to be a summer anthem. Alibi Vs Rockefeller bring this classic track bang up to date and ensure this will be a classic for decades to come, with a killer remix package. Remixes come from the Beatfreakz who first came to fame with the Michael Jackson cover “Somebody’s Watching Me” then followed by the massive “Superfreak” – they are joined by the Grammy nominated Freemasons who have been dominating the UK’s club scene with their monsters “Love On My Mind” / “Watching” and recently “Rain Love Down” – the act are also responsible for the huge Beyonce & Shakira “Beautiful Liar” remixes currently dominating the clubs. Also featuring on the remix front is ErickE who recently made his debut into the UK single chart with his “The Beat Is Rockin” and last but not least are the Dennis Christopher remixes…… The remixes really don’t come much better!!!!

Bat For Lashes: What's A Girl To Do
Having recently signed to Parlophone, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan, AKA Bat for Lashes is set to release What’s A Girl To Do, her third single from the hugely popular and universally acclaimed album Fur And Gold. After completing her first UK headline tour last month, Natasha was asked to take part in Vogue’s Women Who Rock feature with artists as diverse as Cat Power, Beth Ditto and M.I.A, shot by legendary fashion photographer Nick Knight. As if to confirm her imminent status among female pop royalty, Bjork personally requested Bat for Lashes to support her at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris this August (“I saw Bat For Lashes in England; she was amazing” – Bjork, Urb Magazine) Natasha continues to experiment with her sound and has re-recorded the album version of the sultry break up lament What’s A Girl To Do, a tongue in cheek ode to the 60s girl group genre. The song inhabits a place of lost love, love that has died set to playful Shangri-Las inspired pop. The b-side features a remix by Warp’s Plaid as well as a live version of the dark and haunting Sarah, staggeringly different to the album version and featuring the sound of her infamous percussive stick, mercilessly hitting the stage floor. Bat for Lashes has the coveted role of headlining this years Homefires festival, featuring an incredible line up including Nina Nastasia, Richard Swift and Adjagas. The band will also be making several key festival appearances over the summer including Glastonbury on the John Peel Stage, All Tomorrow’s Parties, Latitude, and Bestival. Bat For Lashes live band is a quartet – Natasha Khan (vocals/piano/autoharp/percussion/beat machine/synth/drums), accompanied by Ginger Lee (piano/guitar/percussion/autoharp/backing vox), Abi Fry (viola/percussion/backing vox) and Lizzie Carey (guitar/percussion/violin/backing vox).
Ash: Polaris
In these days of the whoosh-up-and-down firework career, fifth albums are a rare beast. Fifth albums that are actually worth getting excited about are, of course, even rarer. But 'Twilight Of The Innocents' is the record that proves it can be done. It's ambitious, it's energised and it's packed to the rafters with tunes. Fifteen years after they formed at school in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, Ash have never sounded better. Really, they haven't. The journey that led to this remarkable album began on July 23rd 2005. That was the day Ash opened for U2 at Rome's 70,000-capacity Olympic Stadium. It was Ash's fifth show with Bono's boys that summer and the very last engagement of the campaign for Meltdown, the hard-rockin' fourth album they'd released 14 tour-filled months earlier. Now, for the first time in a long time, the band's diary was completely blank. So, what to do next? "I realised we needed some big changes," says Ash frontman Tim Wheeler. "We needed to shake things up. Not just in the band, but in our lives. In everything." After five Top 10 albums (including their 2002 singles collection), 16 Top 40 singles and countless storming gigs, Northern Ireland's premier power-popsters had reached something of a crossroads. Or, as Wheeler's bass-touting school friend Mark Hamilton puts it, "We needed a kick up the arse".
