Jonathan Scott and Simon King follow the real life day-to-day activities of five families of lion, leopard and cheetah on location in Kenya's Masai Mara. Features Half-Tail the leopard with her cub intrigued by streams, a tree and fail to catch an impala. Fundi the cheetah has 10 month old cubs who chase a fox and an aardwolf, also Kidogo the cheetah has 12 week old cubs. Of course the Marsh Pride of lions, the females of the pride are forced to defend the territory against intruding males.

What do the big cats get up to at night time? Using night vision goggles and special infra-red camera equipment the big cat team can unravel some of the answers, moving around the african plains in pitch darkness.

Kidogo the cheetah relaxes with her cubs, she also hunts a gazelle and succeeds. Later on, one of Kidogo's cubs gets into a tangle with a tree branch. Half-Tail the leopard stores a kill up one tree as her cub falls out of another. A lioness mates with three different males.

Simon King and Jonathan Scott have been following the big cats for four weeks and in that time they have become more familiar with the individual characters and their habitats. Simon introduces three lionesses -- Young Girl, Old One and the Outcast. The female leopard, Half-Tail with her remaining cub hunt, feed and play day and night. Kidogo, the cheetah mother, has cubs whom if she wants to stay alive must stay clear of the nearby lion pride.

The Big Pride of lions can be elusive if they choose to be, but with such a large number of young cubs in the group the efforts to find them pays off. In six weeks, Simon King and Jonathan Scott have mingled with the lions, leopards and cheetahs of the Masai Mara. Every early morning they have left camp in search of the big cats.Simon continues to watch over the two star cheetahs Kidogo and Fundi, Jonathan tracks down Half-Tail, leapards are usually a shadow but Half-Tail has been found most days. Her daughter Beauty is with a male and they are both mating. The Marsh Pride of lions are having trouble finding enough food and the cubs future is an uncertain one.
