Emiliana Torrini est née le 16 mai 1977 d'un père italien et d'une mère islandaise. Elle voyage dans toute l'Europe pendant son enfance pour suivre son père restaurateur, puis se pose à la fin des années 90' en Angleterre pour essayer de percer dans la musique. Elle compose et enregistre son premier album international "Love In The Time Of Science" en 1999. Sa voix douce et légère posée sur des musiques alternatives réussie à conquérir le public et les critiques parlent d'Emiliana comme d'une nouvelle Björk. Par la suite, Emiliana se fait discrète mais n'en travaille pas moins pour autant. Elle produit un album de Kylie Minogue et écrit une partie de la bande originale du film "Le Seigneur Des Anneaux 2" avant de revenir début 2005 avec un nouvel album toujours aussi envoûtant "Fisherman's Woman". "Me and Armini" is first single lifted from Emilíana Torrini's third album Me and Armini. It was released as a digital download only on August 18, 2008 and later on September 1, 2008 as a limited to 500 copies 7" vinyl. The song is a live favourite on the tour supporting the Me and Armini album.

"Emilíana Torrini" Emilíana Torrini (née en 1977) est une chanteuse islandaise. Fille d’un père italien restaurateur et d’une mère islandaise, elle se fait connaître en 1999 grâce à sa première sortie mondiale Love in the Time of Science, un album travaillé notamment avec Roland Orzabal de Tears for Fears. Elle a alors déjà sorti deux albums solo Merman et Crouçie d’Où La en Islande, son pays d’origine, et a fait partie d’un petit groupe local Spoon avec lequel elle a sorti un album. Elle collabore également un temps avec le collectif Gus Gus, en 1996, prêtant sa voix à deux chansons de leur premier album. Sa musique est variée, allant du trip hop à une pop très acoustique. Emilíana a fait quelques prestigieuses collaborations : Elle chante Gollum’s Song, le thème final du film de Peter Jackson, Le Seigneur des Anneaux : Les Deux Tours et co-écrit le titre Slow pour Kylie Minogue en 2003. Parmi ses autres collaborations, la chanson Until the Morning de Thievery Corporation a été utilisée comme musique pour la publicité télévisuelle pour la Fiat Croma, fin 2005. Elle revient en 2005 avec Fisherman’s Woman, un album résolument acoustique, très loin de l’ambiance électronique du premier album. Emilíana a tourné avec Moby, Sting, Dido, Travis, Tricky.
