Un allumeur de réverbère doit la prendre de vitesse pour rétablir la vraie couleur des rues. Il doit allumer tous les réverbères de la ville avant que la Nuit ne les détruise. Il traverse Paris d'Est en Ouest pour finir par contempler son oeuvre du haut de la tour Eiffel.
