Volcanic Ash Covers Colombian Cities
For more news and videos visit ➡ http://english.ntdtv.comFollow us on Twitter ➡ http://twitter.com/NTDTelevisionAdd us on Facebook ➡ http://on.fb.me/s5KV2CResidents in western Columbia woke to find their cities and towns covered in volcanic ash Wednesday after an area volcano began spewing an ash cloud as high as one kilometer into the atmosphere. The director of the Volcano and Seismology Observatory in Manizales, says the area can expect more ash to come though experts say they are not expecting lava flows.[Gloria Patricia Cortez, Director, Manizales Volcano and Seismology Observatory]:"It is not strictly categorized as a large eruption but it is in the process of an explosion which is expelling ash. And given the direction of the wind and the dispersion seen in the first reports - we've seen confirmed reports of fine ash materials, relatively fine, in urban areas and in the rural areas of the Manizales and Villa Maria municipalities and obviously in the area around the volcano from the first few hours."Airports in Manizales, Pereira, Armenia and Cartago were all temporarily closed because of ash on the runways and the danger the volcanic material presents to engines.Health authorities have recommended the use of masks while in the streets, but have not cancelled classes at area schools or universities.[Carlos Correa, Pereira Resident]:"There is always a lot of ash and when cars pass they kick off the dust and it always harmful for your lungs, for your health."

Welcome back to ClevverMusic. Season 11 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips has made American Idol history despite eight kidney surgeries during the season and continued health problems. Phillip earns the highest debut on the Digital Songs chart this week as his 'Home' earns No. 2 with 278,000 downloads behind Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe'. On top of that, it's the second best digital sales week ever for any 'Idol' contestant. He is only beat out by Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson with 280,000 downloads from her hit 'My Life Would Such Without You,' which may come as a surprise to Carrie Underwood or Adam Lambert fans. But the records don't stop there, 'Home' also marks the biggest sales week for any 'Idol' winner's coronation winning single, beating David Cook's 'The Time Of My Life,' from 2008. Phillip also has the fourth-largest song debut of the year, trailing Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend,' Maroon 5's 'Payphone,' and Katy Perry's 'Part of Me.' Not too shabby for a Pawn Shop worker from Georgia! All of these records for Season 11 winner are further remarkable due to the fact that this season's finale was the least-watched season finale in American Idol history. All we know is that there must be something special about Phillip Phillips. What do you think of Phillip's record breaking single 'Home'? Leave us a comment and be sure to subscribe to ClevverMusic!
