Taking completecontrol of all instrumentation, programming and vocal responsibilities, he navigates his way through lo-fi pop and electroindie and winds up somewhere completely new. His melodies are twisted yet beautiful, catchy yet alien. The mood tinkers with melancholy whilst retaining enough retro quirk for it to never get too serious. Think Prince. Think Battlestar Galatica. Think Prince in Battlestar Galatica. The next EP is already under construction with an early summer releasedate pencilled in. The Raconteurs were formed in 2005 by Jack White of The White Stripes, acclaimed solo artist Brendan Benson and drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence from The Greenhornes. http://store.eagle-rock.com/theraconteurs Get your hands on a copy. Their debut album "Broken Boy Soldiers" charted at No.2 in the UK and follow up "Consolers Of The Lonely" went in at No.8. Both albums were also Top 10 in the USA. This performance from Montreux in 2008 was part of the tour in support of their second album. The setlist is split between songs from the two albums and includes covers of Terry Reid's "Rich Kid Blues" and the old Charley Jordan track "Keep It Clean". This is rough, tough rock 'n' roll with great tunes and even better guitar hooks performed by an outstanding live band.

Marques Toliver (Control) official
http://www.thefurioussessions.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TheFuriousSessions Marques Toliver grabs his violin and flashes a smile as he intones the verses to Control, the single from the recently released album Land of CanAan. The life of this former street artist changed radically in 2009 when he was discovered by TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone while performing on the streets of Brooklyn, in New York. Since then his career has taken off. His powerful yet tender voice, which in Control expresses the sadness of distant love, no longer resounds in churches, funerals and marriages (in which he often performed as a child in Florida), but is now a regular fixture at British festivals. The poise on display in this session stems namely from the freshness he acquired in the street, where he learned to interact with the audience. Until recently he could still be found busking on London's Brick Lane, where he currently resides. La Folie - Her New Dress (official music video) official
Directed by Werner Amann & Cornelia Thonhauser Postproduction & edited by Frederik Bösing (6minuten Film) http://lafoliemusic.com/ https://www.facebook.com/lafoliemusic https://soundcloud.com/lafolie-music Hair & makeup: Silke Zeitz. Special thanks to Marcus Trojan. La Folie will debut their nocturnal synth-pop at Berlin's Berghain Kantine on Wednesday June 5, 2013. A decade of musicianship, a diary full of heartbreak, and a chance encounter in Berlin preceded the birth of this project from Marc Houle and Joaquim dos Santos. In both name and mood, the band look to 'la folie', the French phrase that describes the madness of love when one is madly in love. Theirs is a powerful type of pop music juxtaposition, made for uneasy easy listening. Joaquim and new live member Clelia Cantoro become stylized synth-pop automatons as their voices blend, echo and confront each other, while Marc draws lush shades of light and shadows from his orchestra of synthesizers. La Folie's lyrical themes are universal, but the band has mostly existed as a secret project. La Folie began when Marc and Joaquim met through mutual friends and a mutual love of music ten years ago in Windsor, Canada. Fueled by Marc's affinity for production and Joaquim's anti-love songs, the two amassed a store of secret recordings that they crafted just for themselves. Years later, once Marc and Joaquim had relocated to Berlin, and after a fortuitous meeting with Clelia, the final incarnation of La Folie was realized. Having written, recorded, re-recorded, refined and evolved their songs sketches over the years, La Folie developed from a passion project to a fully realized band in Marc's Berlin studio. With the aid of Tobi Neumann's prowess as mixing engineer at his newly set up Apollo Studio Berlin, La Folie's debut 12-track album of bittersweet synth-pop laments is nearing completion. The album's tracks will be painstakingly recreated for the group's concert debut, which promises more of the intriguing juxtapositions that make the first glimpses of their debut video "Her New Dress" so compelling. Lederer / http://www.led-r-r.net What Max says: "This was a really fun project to work on right the way through. It started with some glitchy beats and a couple of big basslines I was messing around with, with a general idea of a deep but almost overpowering feeling. Kathrin came to my little studio in London and we talked a little about the idea, before she just let go and free-style sang over the loops, using my crappy little test mic I bought for 12 pounds in 2002. The plan was to lay down some melodic ideas for the vocals, which I could then select, and send back to Kathrin to write lyrics with and re-record properly. But when I ran through everything after I released she'd just nailed it right then and there! All I had to do was layer up some of the multiple instances of her voice, and add my reverbs and widening with some subtle EQing and compression, and it was there - she captured the pure feeling of the music and enhanced it a million times, and I love the free-flowing feeling of it, with it's imperfections and half words, and of course, he subconscious vocal of not feeling any more lead to the title and concise concept for the music. We knew that we had to get a video made to match Kathrin's work, and I was really excited to find out that Henning M. Lederer, who I had been a big fan of for some time, could do the project. We discussed options together and decided to try a "numbed by the capitalist machine" theme, which he has developed into an amazing, detailed story with a twist. I love the result, I hope it works for you too!"

In a short time they have really becoming a hot property. With tracks appearing on Spinnin´ Records, Armada Music, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, its fair to say the duo have been doing something right. In 2010 the pair began to collaborate in the studio, and their first production together "Dollars EP" was quickly snapped up by Neurotraxx Deluxe, which is owned by well-known deep house producer Aki Bergen. Their following track "Don't Quite Get It" was signed to the Swiss label Purple Music owned by House music legend Jamie Lewis. It was released in Jan 2011 to great acclaim and sales, as the track reached number 1 most downloaded on Traxsource.com and attained a place in the top 100 house tracks of the year on the site. Their following track was a remix for Matt Caseli & Danny Freakazoid entitled "Long Legs Runnin'" for massive Dutch label Spinnin Records. Amidst fierce competition it quickly reached number 5 overall on Beatport and it reached the number 2 spot in the house chart. It stayed in the top 100 chart all summer long and became the mainstay in many a DJ box through out the globe. It features on many compilations including global brand Hed Kandi, run by Ministry of Sound. They produced a follow up release for Spinnin Records, which was called "Drives Me Crazy". This was released in Autumn 2011 where it climbed up the top 20 on the Beatport and was also licensed to Ministry of Sounds latest Clubbers Guide 2012 compilation, which contains tracks from the biggest names in dance music. For their track Work, they have have reached out to their proper club roots, by creating a track for the club dance floor. With a rolling bass line, tightly produced drums and percussion, this uses some classic sirens so everyone knows that a dancefloor bomb has just been dropped! Tried and tested on the dancelfoors of ibiza this is definitely one to check out. This has seen support from Mark Knight, playlisted in his Toolroom Radio show, David Penn, David Herrero, Lissat & Voltaxx, Prok & Fitch, Ralph Good, Tim Andresen, Luigi Rocca, Lauer & Canard, Peter Gelderblom and many more.
