Discover Germany | My ... Wernigerode
Pete Prunskunas from Denver,Colorado is a huge fan of castles and palaces. He knew his trip to Germany had to include a visit to Wernigerode,a former medieval town situated in the Harz Mountains. We follow the American software engineer as he travels through time,and nature,in the scenic city. One of his first stops includes the Wernigerode Castle,known as the Neuschwanstein of the Harz region. It’s one of the only castles in Germany that’s still completely intact—and visitors get a glimpse of what life was like for 19th century noblemen. Pete also visits Wernigerode’s ‘Smallest House’ museum—which proved a challenge for such a tall visitor.

A thousand shades of white
This time IceScapes.tv brings you a special episode with spectacular scenes from the Ilulissat ice fjord and the Greenland ice cap. These images were filmed during the 2006 Climate Change College, during which 6 students from the UK and the Netherlands ventured into the arctic wilderness to be trained as climate change ambassadors. Based on the experiences and knowledge gathered on several locations in Greenland, they launched various initiatives raising public awareness around the topic of climate change. In the future we will feature more stories from the Climate Change College. You can read more about the project on www.climatechangecollege.org. The other side of Greenland
In this episode we visit the remote North-Western part of Greenland, where the 2008 Notice Expedition team arrived three weeks early after their South to North crossing of the ice cap. They had planned to be picked up by boat, but because of their early arrival the fjords are still frozen and the boat won’t be able to reach them. Instead, they will now have to find some things to do for a couple of days while waiting for a helicopter to take them to the town of Qaanaaq.
