Chicken Little is a short film created by Walt Disney during World War II. Unlike the company's 2005 feature film of the same name, this short was based on the actual classic tale itself.

Andy reads in the newspaper that dog catcher Wally Walrus is coming to collect $3.00 worth of dog tax from every dog owner. Being kind of a cheapskate, he hides his dog in the closet from Wally's presence but, upon entering Andy's house, Wally still suspects something is amiss. He uses a trained flea to reveal the dog who gets chased by Wally into a pond in the backyard. After "fishing" the dog out, Wally demands Andy pay his $3.00 but both are in for a surprise: the dog has an entire litter of puppies each worth an additional $3.00!

On a hot summer day, Woody hears a radio commercial for the latest thirst quencher, a 25-cent ice cream soda called the Drooler's Delight. Finding that he has exactly one quarter on him, he heads for the malt shop but draws the attention of the greedy Buzz Buzzard. The two adversaries play a variety of sneaky tricks on each other to steal the quarter back and forth; the contest ends when Woody, disguised as a woman, leads Buzz on a chase that causes him to knock himself out against a wall. When Woody reaches the malt shop and orders his Drooler's Delight, he is surprised to find Buzz as the soda jerk, who stuffs Woody into a glass and mixes him up with the ingredients. However, Woody drinks the whole thing down from inside the glass and gets the last laugh on Buzz.

Barney is doing his chores when he overhears neighbor William Wildcat threating to tan his son's hide "til it glows in the dark". Barney explains to the father that any child can be tamed using psychology and uses a handy book to help look after his neighbor's son. However, Willie Wildcat is evil to the core. When they try playing "Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey", Willie gets Barney kicked by a real donkey. When Barney bakes Willie a cake, Willie fills it with gas from the stove and it explodes. Finally, Barney takes the last chapter's advice ("If all else fails, BOTTOMS UP!") and he joins his neighbor in spanking the youngster.
