Tetros
I was watchng Simon Dronet's video series, Quelques Secondes [A Few Seconds] and thought, "hey, I could do a few seconds myself". And remembered that I had an experiment on my hard drive with a game of Tetris done in Cinema 4D.Si I decided to do first a 2D Tetris in After Effects and add that little experiment at the end. Nothing major, but fun to do. I'll add sound effects later.I asked Khoral to work on the famous Tetris theme and go with something different. Doubtful Stars
During the same Christmas Break, I did shoot a lot of footage with my GoProBut I also shot a few timelapses. We were lucky enough to be in remote locations in the South Island of New Zealand, so we had close to no light pollution [but the moon was almost full those nights, so it killed some of the stars].We also did an overnight cuise on the Doubtful Sound, an even more remote location in the southwest of the South Island, the landscape was breathtaking and I tried more timelapse. Unfortunately, even if a boat is moored, it still moves with the currents and the winds, even if you can't notice. So it created that strange effect.

New Year Down Under 2012
Unfortunately. I'm a little late as I upload that we're well into February. but it doesn't matter. No sir. It doesn't.So here is a little idea for a new year card I had while on Christmas break, toying with my newly acquired GoPro.I did that in Bertrand Remaut's kitchen on a very funny Saturday afternoon, playing with water and food coloring. Always good fun!So thanks to him for the location and the ideas!The elevator music has been provided by Karim More.It's just so frustrating that underwater footage with a GoPro is blurry. They need to release an extra lens or something to correct that!

Après m'être acheté une de ces GoPro, j'ai pris quelques vacances dans l'Ile du Nord et l'Ile du Sud de la Nouvelle Zélande. J'ai utilisé la caméra de manière intensive pendant presque 3 semaines et filmé à peu près toutes mes activités à base d'eau.On est allé princpalement vers Tauranga, Napier, Queenstown, Manapouri et Doubtful SoundAfter acquiring one of those lovely GoPro I went on a trip around the summery New Zealand. I used it extensively for a period of almost 3 weeks and documented most activities I've done [but usually involving going in the water]. We've been around the North Island in Tauranga and Napier. And in the South Island in Queenstown, Manapouri and The Doubful Sound.And the music is of course the cover of Immigrant Song by Trent Reznor from The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo soundtrack.I used extensively the slow motion mode of the GoPro, especially the 480p that shoots at 120fps. So I cheated by up-scaling those shots to 720p. The quality loss is indeed noticable, but a 5 time slow motion is just too good to miss out entirely.

Patti Cakes - Cannibal
So we ended up shooting 3 songs with 3 cameras, each of the songs with two different settings and a third part where Tara/Patti [I prefer her real name, Tara, such a cool name] would do random stuff that could add some quirky fun stuff.We tried to use the bar and the velvet drapes of the Third and Social to create a different vibe for each of the three songs and try to avoid the unavoidable: without real planning and in the same location, the videos would look somewhat similar.At the end we also recorded Cannibal again with the microphones closer for an even better sound quality.
