Prince William co-pilots helicopter rescue
ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Britain's Prince William co-piloted a helicopter which rescued two people early on Sunday (November 27), after a ship was hit by an "enormous wave" in the Irish Sea, the UK's Press Association reported. One person died and another five are still missing after the 81-metre cargo carrier sank some 10 miles (16km) west of the Llyn peninsula in north Wales, the news agency said. William, who also has the title The Duke of Cambridge, was called into action from his base at RAF Valley after the Swanland ship issued a mayday call at around 2am (0200GMT) when its hull cracked. Two members of the Russian crew of the Cook Islands-registered vessel were pulled from the water soon after the alarm was raised. They were airlifted to safety by William's Sea King helicopter and were later taken to hospital in Bangor for precautionary checks, the Press Association said. The Royal Air Force (RAF) later released dramatic video footage of the rescue, said to have been filmed from the helicopter William was co-piloting. At one point, the winchman attempting to reach two survivors in a life raft is seen to land in the water some metres from the raft. In a later attempt, he manages to grab on to the raft and effect the rescue. Another crew member was found in the water later in the morning but has been confirmed as dead, said the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "The Duke of Cambridge was a co-pilot on one of the aircraft involved. He is now back at base." Gale-force winds battered the Irish Sea during the early hours of the morning and the Coastguard believe this could have been what caused the incident. The 81-metre cargo carrier was carrying 3,000 tonnes of limestone from Colwyn Bay to Cowes in the Isle of Wight.

Chinese flock to South Korea for plastic surgery
Twenty-four-year old Wang Li from China wants to look like her favourite South Korean actress. The Beijing native is one of a growing number of affluent Chinese, heavily influenced by South Korean pop culture, who head to Seoul for cosmetic surgery. Medical tourism in the country is booming - health chiefs say there were more than 80,000 medical tourists last year, compared to just 8000 three years earlier. Dr Park Won-Jin, director of aesthetic surgery at this Seoul clinic, has seen the sharp rise himself. (SOUNDBITE) (Korean) DR. PARK WON-JIN, DIRECTOR OF WONJIN AESTHETIC SURGERY CLINIC, SAYING: "Recently, the number of patients have sharply increased along with popularity of South Korean dramas and K-pop. These days, we're having more than five patients for surgeries or consultation on a daily basis." Wang says she was convinced to go ahead with her surgeries by the results of her friends' procedures. (SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) 24-YEAR-OLD CHINESE PATIENT WANG LI SAYING: "All my friends come here for their surgery. The pricing is, how should I put it, not about how cheap or expensive it is, as long as the result is good it's fine. I've seen my friends after their surgery here, their results are great, and after recovery their faces do not have any side-effects. It's especially good, so I decided to come here for the surgery." A week after her treatment which included a double eye-lid procedure, a nose job and more face-contouring, Wang is happy with the results. SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) 24-YEAR-OLD CHINESE PATIENT WANG LI SAYING: "I've come to South Korea for the surgery, and I feel the result is quite good. Hopefully after the swelling subsides I will have the face I want, the face of Lee Da-hae. That will be good." Government officials say they expect one million medical tourists a year in South Korea by 2020. Sunita Rappai, Reuters
Crack in glacier to yield new iceberg in Antarctica
ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION NASA scientists say they have discovered the birth of an iceberg -- an 18 mile (29 km) long and 50 meters deep crack in the Pine Island Glacier in western Antarctica. The rift went unnoticed until an October 14 mission by NASA's DC-8 aircraft found evidence of an emerging crack in Pine Island's floating ice shelf. In a follow-up mission on October 26, NASA scientists made the first-ever detailed airborne measurements of a major iceberg calving in progress. Images released from that flight show a close-up view of the crack, spreading across the ice shelf, spanning a length of approximately 18 miles (29 km) and about 820 feet apart (250 meters) at its widest. The deepest points from the ice shelf surface ranged 165 to 195 feet (50 to 60 meters). When the iceberg breaks off the shelf, it will cover about 340 square miles (880 square kilometers) of surface area. NASA has not indicated when the iceberg is expected to break free from the glacier.
