Lynn Carey is an American singer, songwriter, model, and actress. She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and music at the Dick Grove School of Music. and also studied ballet with David Lichine (and performed briefly with the Los Angeles Ballet Theater) and studied tap and jazz with Roland Dupre. She has recorded 9 albums... C. K. Strong, Ivar Avenue Reunion, Vacuum Cleaner, Mama Lion: Preserve Wildlife. Mama Lion: Give It Everything I've Got, Good Times, From All Sides (with the L.A. Jazz Choir), Roars Back and the soon to be released, Gypsy Lover. She has appeared as a guest artist and sung background vocals on many more albums and commercial projects. She sang (and co-wrote two songs with the wonderful Stu Phillips) for the movie "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls" and, in the movie "The Seven Minutes", she sang and co-wrote a song and was filmed for the movie singing the song with Neil Merryweather, with whom she worked and lived for four years. She has toured in the United States (television and hundreds of concerts and clubs), Europe (concerts and clubs and television) including two appearances at the Montreux Jazz and Pop Festival, and Russia (concerts,clubs and television), where they filmed a documentary on her called "Lynn Carey In Moscow", and where she was honoured to open (with several other great artists) the first International Moscow Jazz Fesrival and worked with the Oleg Lundstrem Band...the oldest jazz big band in the world. While She was in Russia, she met lyricist, artist and entrepreneur Marina Migulya and her late husband Vladimir Migulya, with whom she wrote and recorded. Marina and her two daughters are still good friends of her. Russian Gypsy jazz vocalist, the late Nora Ivanova and her son, piano genius, Fyodor Ivanov, also helped her very much.
