CGR Undertow - DUKE NUKEM 3D review for Game.com official
Duke Nukem 3D video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video review of Duke Nukem 3D from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. This game is like the first person shooter that existed before first person shooters. You can move Duke forward, backward and to the side, but you can't turn around. He only faces forward, both because the game.com is exceptionally weak and because Duke is not a pussy. Slaughter aliens, find the door to the next room and slaughter more aliens. This video review features video gameplay footage of Duke Nukem 3D for the game.com and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
CGR Undertow - CENTIPEDE review for Game.com official
Centipede video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video review of Centipede from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. Centipede was kind of a standout on a system that didn't have many, and its classic arcade gameplay is pretty much in tact. Centipede actually looks better than most game.com games due to its simplicity. It turns out the lesson was simple—don't push the game.com, and the game.com wouldn't push you. Off a cliff. This video review features video gameplay footage of Centipede for the game.com and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
CGRundertow BATMAN & ROBIN for Game.com Video Game Review official
Batman and Robin review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Batman and Robin from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. Batman and Robin is a side scroller of the simplest variety. You move from the left to the right, and you beat up the bad guys. The gameplay is ridiculously simple and repetitive, and it moves so slowly that it actually starts grating your nerves. But in the game's defense, that's probably smart design for the game.com. CGRundertow THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK for Game.Com Video Game Review official
The Lost World: Jurassic Park review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of The Lost World: Jurassic Park from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. The Lost World is split into two parts. You drive through fields to get to a dinosaur nest. Once you're there, the game turns into a platformer. You search the area for eggs, and you have to grab them all before you can progress. Unfortunately, finding little eggs is something that should never be an objective on a screen like the game.com's. CGRundertow SONIC JAM for Game.com Video Game Review official
Sonic Jam review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Sonic Jam from Tiger Electronics and SEGA for the game.com. Sonic Jam is a collection of older Sonic games. Specifically Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. At least, kind of. They're quite different from the Genesis originals, most of all in quality. It's literally impossible to see the game. Sonic moves fast, and the screen turns into a blur. On a console like the Genesis, that's fine. But on the game.com, it's just a dot matrix mess. It looks like your calculator threw up all over itself and Sonic is trying to clean it up. This video review features video gameplay footage of Sonic Jam for the game.com and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
CGRundertow INDY 500 for Game.com Video Game Review official
Indy 500 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Indy 500 from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. A portable version of SEGA's 1995 arcade racer, Indy 500 was a launch title for the somewhat innovative, somewhat awful game.com. Indy 500 does a lot of things to show off the power of its hardware. Sound effects, in particular, seem to be a focal point. And the box genuinely seems to think they're impressive. The problem is they're not. Sound aside, what the game really comes down to is one on one battles on the race track. As you come up behind another car, it's a battle of braking and accelerating for supremacy. You can't just speed by. You have to outmaneuver each vehicle, one by one. It's an interesting idea, but it never gains traction. And the sound sucks. CGRundertow WILLIAMS ARCADE CLASSICS for Game.com Video Game Review official
Williams Arcade Classics review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Williams Arcade Classics from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. Released in 1997, Williams Arcade Classics is one of the better titles ever released for the game.com. And like so many similar games, it's a simple compilation of arcade classics. It has Joust, Defender, Defender II, Sinistar and a CGR favorite, Robotron. The lineup is awesome, if a bit limited by today's standards, and the good news is that the games were brought to the game.com with surprisingly positive results. If you have the system and you're looking for a lasting game that's very playable, Williams Arcade Classics delivers. CGRundertow LIGHTS OUT for Game.com Video Game Review official
Lights Out review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Lights Out from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. It's crazy to think Lights Out was released in 1997. Add some color and throw on a back light, and this game would fit right in on the Nintendo DS. The puzzles are awesome, the controls are fantastic, the game just screams Touch Generations a decade before Nintendo coined the term. But in addition to being innovative and forward thinking, Lights Out is a really fun puzzler. You have a grid full of black squares, and each puzzle lights up a selection of them. It's your job to tap the newly lit squares and ensure the grid is completely lights out...which gets incredibly challenging. CGRundertow FIGHTERS MEGAMIX for Game.com Video Game Review official
Fighters Megamix review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Fighters Megamix from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. Combine Virtua Fighter 2 with Fighting Vipers, and you get Fighters Megamix, an outstanding SEGA Saturn game. Combine Virtua Fighter 2 with Fighting Vipers and a dot matrix screen, and you get Fighters Megamix for the game.com...a slightly less impressive game and one of the worst game.com games. It doesn't get much worse than that. You can't see a thing in this version of Fighters Megamix. The game's animations are basic as it is, and then when they blur together, it's almost impossible to see anything clearly. Fortunately, the blurriness at least camouflages the game's hit detection, which is a complete disaster. CGRundertow RESIDENT EVIL 2 for Game.com Video Game Review official
Resident Evil 2 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Resident Evil 2 from Tiger Electronics for the game.com. Resident Evil 2 was widely considered a failure on the game.com. Nonetheless, Resident Evil 2 feels at least vaguely familiar on the game.com. This version is based on Leon Kennedy's quest from the original game and loosely follows Resident Evil 2's structure and storyline. But otherwise, everything goes wrong. The controls are unplayably bad, first and foremost. There's a strange delay between virtually every action Leon performs and the button press that commands him to do it, which in and of itself is enough to make this game too frustrating to play. This video review features video gameplay footage of Resident Evil 2 for the game.com and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek. And connect with us at: http://www.ClassicGameRoom.comhttp://www.facebook.com/ClassicGameRoomhttp://www.gplus.to/ClassicGameRoomhttp://www.Twitter.com/ClassicGameRoomhttp://www.Twitter.com/CGRundertow
