Beatles - Hey Bulldog [99 Remix]
"Hey Bulldog" is a song by The Beatles which first appeared on the Yellow Submarine soundtrack album in 1969. Written by John Lennon (but credited to Lennon & McCartney), the song was recorded during sessions for the single "Lady Madonna", and is one of the few Beatles songs to revolve around a piano riff. During the recording, Beatles bass player Paul McCartney started to bark without warning. The next lines (initially intended as "Hey Bullfrog") were changed mid-song to "Hey Bulldog".

Are You Being Served - S04E06
"Are You Being Served?" is one of my favourite television shows. Airing in the 70s and 80s, this Britcom skewered the British class system and various stereotypes to hilarious effect. The humour is a little bit slapstick, and thick with double entendres. Here, one episode in its entirety, entitled 'Oh, What A Tangled Web' - as indicated, this is the 6th episode in the 4th season of the show, but it was the first episode that I ever saw, which ultimately led me to discover the entire series. (Pardon the short advert in the middle - couldn't successfully delete it.)

Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas
Ah, those stylish 80s... :) Love it or hate it, this song - complete with its love-in video - is a part of the Christmas season, at least in the realm of radio, where it loops endlessly around this time of year. Released in 1984 for Ethiopian famine relief, this song spawned a whole genre of charity singles, including Tears Are Not Enough and the ever-popular We Are The World.

Monty Python - Ministry Of Silly Walks
Classic Python sketch, a hilarious send-up of bloated government bureaucracies. "The very real problem is one of money. I'm afraid that the Ministry of Silly Walks is no longer getting the kind of support it needs. You see there's Defence, Social Security, Health, Housing, Education, Silly Walks ... They're all supposed to get the same. But last year, the Government spent less on the Ministry of Silly Walks than it did on National Defence!"

Pulp - Common People (Live)
Pulp performs their biggest hit single, 'Common People', in their triumphant appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995. (I love the way the crowd singing along actually drowns out the band at certain points. :)) A perfect pop performance.

Beatles - newsreel (1963)
I would rather sit through a Pathe newsreel prior to a film at the cinema than the tepid adverts they make us watch nowadays. Here, a Pathe News item from the 60s, chronicling the arrival and pre-show preparations of The Beatles before a concert. Included in the 5-minute clip is their performance of 'She Loves You'.

A portion of a performance in Munich, in 1966, originally aired on West German television. Includes 'Rock & Roll Music', 'I Feel Fine', and 'Nowhere Man' among others - notably, 'Yesterday', which is played by the entire band (not just Paul).
