We'll tell you our prediction. Hey Idol friends! The top 2, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover performed on the last performance night of American Idol Season 12. It was "Country versus soul" as host Ryan Seacrest called it and it's the first girl-girl finale since Season 3. The gals sang three songs each, first a song chosen by show creator Simon Fuller, then their Idol single should they win, and then they choose their favorite song they sang this season.Kree Harrison flipped a coin and chose to go first on the show (a bad move on her part most though). Kree's Simon Fuller song was Sarah Maclachlan's "Angel", and saw her belt out a tearjerker ballad wearing a gorgeous gown not often seen on this Country gal. Candice sang Adele's "Chasing Pavements" for her Simon Fuller choice, which the judges thought was slightly better than Kree's song although the judges didn't really like either song choice..For round two, Kree sang her potential Idol single should she win called, "All Cried Out", a stripped down personal song, check it out. At first we thought the song was lackluster but after listening a second time, we like it. However my Idol friends it was Candice's potential Idol single that had everyone on their feet. Here's a look at "I Am Beautiful". Candice, you are beautiful. The judges again thought Candice won that round of songs, and we have to agree with them. It seems song choices are getting the best of Kree at this point. For the final round of the night Kree chose to sing "Up to the Mountain" as her repeat song, which Randy Jackson thought was her best performance of the night. Candice's final song of the night was "I Who Have Nothing" which fans helped her choose via her Twitter. She started singing it a cappella and we think that may have just secured her the win. Afterwards judge Nicki Minaj pointed out, "Are we seeing your legs for the first time?" Yup, we noticed that too! The judges praised the performance for taking it "to another level". As promised, Canadian Idol star Carly Rae Jepsen performed on the show her new Coke-sponsored song, "Take A Picture" which was put together in part by America, here's a look at how America did.We caught up with Carly backstage after the show and she said she'd make a horrible judge because she's too "motherly" but regarding her friend Justin Bieber, "Justin would be awesome" as a judge. Speaking of judges, US Weekly is reporting that Nicki Minaj won't be returning next season. Backstage Keith Urban told us on returning, "I'd like to". An insider told US Weekly, "It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol," continuing to say, "She's OK with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway." The source claims Ms. Nicki will shift her focus back to music working on her new album, touring, and yet more endorsements. We here at ClevverMusic actually LOVE Nicki's vibrant judge comments on the show, but let's look on the bright side.This announcement turns out to be a win-win for us. Barbz will get a brand new album and no more feuding with Mariah Carey (hopefully.) A statement from Nicki or Fox about her departure from American Idol has not yet been released, so there is still a glimmer of hope she will return, but let's not hold our breath.Another American Idol judge, Randy Jackson announced just last week that he will be stepping down after 12 seasons. In a statement he explained, "Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on 'American Idol' I have decided it is time to leave after this season." He continued, "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures." Now news yet on if Mariah Carey and Keith Urban are to return next season, but we know Keith wants to return. So my friends are you shocked Nicki isn't returning next season or did you expect it?
