If there is one place on earth where climbers celebrate the arrival of the next snowstorm, it has to be Scotland. Each winter, pounded by the North Atlantic winds, the Scottish Highlands are covered by a layer of snow and frost at the mercy of weather conditions. Here, winter climbing has existed for more than a century, and the smell of adventure is as authentic as the whisky borne of the local peat. Climbing is done from the ground up, without bolts, and generally onsight. An introduction to the very modern ethics of Scottish mixed climbing. It's in those condition that Ueli Steck flashed "the secret" (X, 10), the hardest climb in Ben Nevis.See more of mountaineering videos, gear and techniques on :http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/activities-techniques/mountaineering
Introduction à la très moderne éthique écossaise d'escalade mixte...Avec Martial Dumas, Ueli Steck, Yann Mimet, Erwan Lelann, Mathieu Maynadier, Tony Lamiche, Aljaz Anderle et Andy Turner.

Infinity Lane is a something new we thought up for the 2009 Millau Natural Games. The two Ultimate Routes, located at the Cathédrale in the Gorges de la Jonte (Aveyron, France), are actually three-pitch sport lines that the participants have to link together into one long, single pitch. The grade is about 8a (90 meters) for the women and 8b+ (90 meters) for the men.Climbers had four days to link the route. They weren't allowed to work the moves - once a climber fell, she or he was lowered to the ground and had to start over from the beginning the next day.Martina Cufar and Florence Pinet both onsighted the Women's Ultimate Route... Dani Andrada and Mickaël Fuselier made it almost to the top before falling near the anchors on the men's route. However it took Chris Sharma only one try to get to the top.More infos about the movie, photos, wallpapers and rock climbing gear, on:http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/news/events-0/2009/08/07/infinity-lane-film

A plaisant explanation of what can be the idea of Paralpinism with two climbing team Erwan Le Lann and Manu Pellissier. They are ice climbers specialists as we heard about... But they always complain about ice because it's too cold. I don't know why they didn't plan to go to the beach on a warm temperature? A movie by Bertrand Delapierre
The most significant thing after a new year on crutches is to be on time to focus on next step : being on adventure soon! I was suppose to be on ice and cold this time. never mind next year is a good year! So we (7 friends) are going to the end of the world in Antarctica to be sure there is no polar bear as mentioned the name of the land. The purpose is still to play with elements,Paragliding and kite, skiing, snowboarding, bigwall climbing and for sure make a try to be the one to jump off on wingsuit from Holtanna peak. More infos on : http://www.petzl.com
A frozen idea for the Holtanna climbing team. There is a big chance as we gonna celebrate new year on the wall of Holtanna for 2010. Have a look at what's the plan for the jumping team at the same time...we've been on Verdon Canyon in France for a team building having some jumps and drinking champagne hanging on a portaledge. Future new year will be probably less confortable but wich is sure we gonna make big party again because waiting for me during a year remind I don't have to forgot to bring some chocolate and drinks for them...thank you to all the team!
