Dr. Eric M. Genden, chairman for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medial Center in New York, explains why he chose to become a head and neck surgeon. Dr. Eric Genden attended medical school at The Mount Sinai Medical School. After additional training at Washington University, he returned to The Mount Sinai and stayed on staff since 1998. He feels passionate about treating head and neck cancers because they can be debilitating to a person’s ability to function. He feels that his specialty allows him to not only save patients’ lives but also restore quality of life and function so patients can speak, eat and socialize well.
