Director/Producer Mariusz Kotowski established Bright Shining City Productions in the entertainment center of Austin, TX. Since his move to Austin from New York (originally from Poalnd), Mariusz has completed three films in three years and has several projects in development. His first film project, "Pola Negri: Life Is a Dream in Cinema", premiered to two packed screenings at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and went on to win several independent film awards. This enlightening documentary presents the life and work of legendary Polish actress Pola Negri, once the most famous silent film star in the world. It features commentaries from Academy Award-winner Hayley Mills and veteran actor Eli Wallach. "Esther’s Diary", a dramatic feature, explores the internal conflicts that haunt survivors and descendants (both Jewish and Christian) of the Polish holocaust. It has been screened in many cities and has won numerous awards. "Deeper and Deeper" is Mariusz’s first feature film exploring the psychological-thriller genre (an area made popular by one of his heroes, Alfred Hitchcock) and stars David Lago. This film also continues to do the Film Festival circuit and has been has earned numerous accolades and awards. <br />Mariusz is also a published author of the book Pola Negri: Legenda Hollywood published in Polish by Proszynski Media (February 2011). Soon to be released and distributed by Bright Shining City Productions is a DVD Box Set of 4 early films of Ms. Negri’s which have been re-mastered and set with an new original score by Rick deJonge.
