I called Nestle headquarters to try to get them to cut themselves off from Sinar Mas, a company that is causing the extinction of the orang-utans in Indonesian rainforests by causing deforestation and destroying their habitat. Nestle did stop doing business with Sinar Mas directly, but started doing business with Cargill, who does business with Sinar Mas. Sinar Mas gets unsustainable palm oil from the trees they cut down, which causes climate change, or a rise in the temperature in the atmosphere. When forests are cut down, it causes a rise in the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
