Helen Karikari is a classically trained Ghanaian Soprano who has studied with Floral Opera as part of a Royal Opera House education programme. Helen Karikari has been on stage with companies including City Opera, the Hampstead Garden Opera company, Operafesta, Béla Bartók Centre of Musicianship and the Opera Workout company. Helen Karikari is also known for her concert and recital soloist work that has taken her all around the world for performances.
Throughout her previous years training as an opera singer Helen Karikari has worked with several tutors. At Opera Performance, through City-Lit, she worked under Margaret Gibbs. After that she studied with Agnes Kory through the BBCM. Helen Karikari also took part in opera master classes run by Jeremy Silver, Morag Laren Christopher Cowell during 2011; run by Sir John Tomlinson and Dame Rosalind Plowright during 2010; and by Andrew Sinclair and Catherine Wyn-Rogers during 2009.
Helen Karikari has an extensive Opera repertoire which includes, Handel, Mozart, Donizetti. Concert and recital repertoire encompasses a wide array of music including early works of Verdi, Benjamin Britten's English songs, Rodrigo and Ravel. Through the next 12 months Helen Karikari will be giving soprano recitals in the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries around the world.
