I am pretty much a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of girl. I am a Puerto Rican, I am originally from Chicago, and I am from a typical Spanish speaking Catholic middle class family. I guess you can say that I had a pretty typical childhood, I was a major tomboy, I went to public school, I was a Girl Scout, I was also a CCD student until like the 8th grade and then I taught CCD for roughly three years. In 8th grade I joined a gang and smoked a lot of pot, luckily I also did my homework and got good grades so for high school I went to Lane Tech HS. When I started HS I stopped the gang and pot thing and did the typical Lane Tech preppie thing and I also threw myself into a group called ASPIRA, by my senior year I was ASPIRA everything. In my senior year I also joined the US Navy and left home for the first time about four months after graduation. I have known since the 1st grade that I was into girls, more than boys and leaving home is what gave me the comfort level and willingness to come out and it really was a wonderful feeling and sense of relief that I could finally be myself. Although since I came out while on active duty (dont ask, dont tell) I could only tell a few selected and trusted people. In my senior year I took up smoking cigarettes and didnt quit that until 2001 and I did go through a couple of additional little pot smoking periods in there during my lifetime, once in high school and then again during my reserve years. I did marry a guy at one point and then he and I eventually divorced and I got remarried but this time to a woman in 2003 and she and I are still together. After active duty I somehow ended up in Pennsylvania and that is where I met my partner, we are in a committed relationship and we have been together for more than 9 years now. At the moment we are living in Chicago, Illinois, my hometown.
