Birds Eye View is a creative platform for women filmmakers. We launched the UK's first major women's film festival in 2005 across London's leading film venues, showing a tip-top programme of stunning and inspirational features, documentaries and short films from around the world. Each year we develop our programme with more outstanding films and innovative cross-arts events, and now we're equipping the next generation to break new ground through our technical and creative training programmes.
Women make up only 7% film directors and 12% screenwriters. In a world so influenced by the medium of film, that's a crazy and concerning imbalance.
Birds Eye View Film Festival 2009 will take place from 5th - 13th March with screenings at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and the BFI Southbank. The programme has now been announced on our website and tickets will be available from early February.
Join us as we keep celebrating the work of cutting edge creative women from around the world. You'll be amazed...

BEV brought together an inspirational panel discussion to celebrate the success of the few women who made it into the 2009 Cannes programme. The panel was chaired by BEV founder & director, Rachel Millward.
Now returns to Edinburgh International Film Festival to celebrate the women in the programme and to connect and inspire female filmmaking talent, with these two exciting events.
